The descision to send your instrument out of the state for modification is not one you undertake lightly. Infact before I opted to send my banjo I was in txt coms with Leon for abut 2 months. The design for my rim was created on white board in banjohangouts chat room, this enabled us to work in colaboration to produce a design that was workable and as close to my requirements as posible. I was give constant live video updates on the build progress and this made it posible to actualy change my mind about one of the details on the fly. I decided that I didnt like the light and dark layers of maple and oz ironwood and requested it be stained to match the ironwood (which prety much matches the neck) Leon goes to great lenghts to ensure customer satisfaction. I wish the boys all the best with thier new line of banjos. If they use the love poured into my convertion they canot fail.

I approached Banjobrothers to discuss building me a banjo from a few parts I already owned. They built me an American hard rock maple block rim for a tube & plate setup to suit my tonering and neck. They also supplied all the hardware and resonator.
The finished product was a well setup and good sounding banjo. I think the Mcpeak tonering sounded as good as it could.
I recently got to play the new Eureka model which I was very impressed with and liked the Gibson like sound.
As I could not afford a new banjo I asked if they could fit the Eureka tonering into my banjo. Within 2 hours they stripped my banjo and machined my rim to perfectly fit the new Huber vintage tonering into my banjo while I waited..
I was amazed the banjo tranformed from good to better.
it had more of that Gibson sound I like. It plays clean and has good snap and volume. Its very alive without having to play hard.
If you see Uncle Bill play you will hear this great banjo.
