Hey Folks, I think it's about time to try to document Australian made banjos. There are not too many, but I have come across some more than I thought there were. I think this is an opportunity for a musical PHD or for someone.to make a real contribution to Australian history

You guys don't have Aaron Rubley from Melbourne down? He had made over a hundred last time I saw, he also sells rims made from Aussie timbers to the USA. I noticed his website is down but I think that is due to him recently moving the workshop. Also casts some of his own hardware too. I visited the States last year, his instruments were causing quite a stir at one of the festivals.

Wayne Beckett has also made a number of banjos and guitars. You may have seen a very large one on ebay for $6000. That was a custom request. Custom builds are so exciting to create. I love to make what the customer wants and to do the best I can do for them.
